Hoodoo Raygun guitars are proudly crafted in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains at our Calgary, Canada facility. The highest quality workmanship and materials allow us to back our instruments with a lifetime warranty.
We hand select the best tone woods available and paint our highly contoured, light weight bodies using very thin but durable finishes for maximum resonance. Then we install passive DiMarzio® pickups for high output tone that’s powerful but still has tons of soul. We top it off with a bone nut, and then string the guitar through the body and our custom aluminum tailpiece for sustain, definition, and clarity. Rest assured, your playing will cut through the rest of the band at shows and sit perfectly in the mix on recordings. Nothing matches the Hoodoo sound.
Our maple necks use a rosewood fretboard inlaid directly into the neck for hidden fret ends and a totally seamless feel like a one-piece neck. We worked hard to perfect the back profile of our necks, as well as its satin lacquer finish so that your hands will instantly feel at home. The heel of the neck and body are elegantly carved for easy upper fret access. We level, crown, and polish the frets by hand and pay close attention to final setup so our instruments play perfectly right out of the box.
Touring musicians need an instrument they can count on night after night. Raygun delivers. German made Schaller® hardware comes on all Raygun instruments, including locking tuners and a roller bridge for optimum tuning stability. Strap locks are standard. The neck is mounted in a precisely cut pocket using stainless steel machine screws and threaded inserts. This allows maximum vibration transfer and ensures the neck will never shift. We install USA made Switchcraft® jacks and Bourns® potentiometers, hand wired using beefy shielded cables. Crackles, hum, and scratchy controls are a thing of the past.
